De Soto 400-Mile Cycling Short - BS3

The "400-Mile" name was given to these shorts and bibs by Emilio based on product testing consisting of 400 miles over 4 days. His logic was that many shorts feel fine for 100+ mile rides, but the real question is how the saddle feels when getting on the bike the next morning for another 100 miles...and the next morning? This was the inspiration for the design, the pad, and the name.

The 14mm Clasico 400-Mile Pad is sewn into the short. On the bike, the pad stretches with the short and follows your skin as it moves with every pedal stroke, eliminating the friction that can cause irritation or rashes. It's a quick drying pad and is recommended for triathlon use. The seamless inner thigh also eliminates friction against the saddle and thighs.

These are an 11-panel bike short made of Forza Compressor Fabric, ensuring a precise fit and providing complete muscle support. 3-inch two-piece Mobius Comfort leg-bands keep the shorts in place without excess squeeze.

The leg length is shorter than most other brands. Unlike the bibs that riders have been wearing in Europe lately, especially in the Grand Tours, which come just above the knees, our 400-Mile Bibshorts are comfortably shorter like those currently used by the pros, and they have no gripper elastic, yet stay in place and do not bind the legs. Inseam measurements are listed in the size chart.

The shorts come up a bit higher on the waist than other brands, covering and tucking in the obliques and abdomen. This offers a slimmer appearance and nice support around the midsection. The drawcord and elastic waistband hold the short in place.

There are 3 pockets: one on each outer thigh and one center back pocket that fits smart phones, fuel packets, and most sunglasses. If you never use them, you'll never know they are there. But you'll wonder how you could have lived without them.

The curvilinear seamlines and contrast flatstitch provide riding comfort and an attractive appearance, while being extremely durable.

This innovation is completely free of solvents. It is not recommended for repeated use in a chlorinated pool. Made in the USA.
